She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John E. Miller; children, Lia (John) Napierala, Lani Miller, John (Theresa) Miller; grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) Schojan, Karine Schojan, Rachel Miller, Jacob Miller; step-grandchildren, David (Megan) Reilich, Timothy (Mary) Reilich; great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Kali, Ruby, Jah’sir and Liesl; nieces and friends.
Janet was born in Binghamton, NY and moved to Rochester in her teens. She graduated from John Marshall High school and then moved to Hawaii where she met the love of her life, John. She spent the next five years as a Navy wife. Her first daughter, Lia was born in Texas. Her second daughter, Lani was born in California.
She and John moved back to Rochester where their son, John P was born. They settled in Henrietta and remained there for the next 50+ years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed nothing more than having her family together for all the holidays and family events.
Her other past-time interests included being involved in the PTA, volunteering for both the Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts, watching her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and dance recitals. Janet enjoyed nothing more than working in her many flower and vegetable gardens, fishing from her boat and vacations on the lake with the whole family.
As her children got older Janet worked for many years as an Associate Broker for Nothnagle Realtors.
After retiring from the real estate business, she devoted herself to her grandchildren and great-grand children.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Becker and the staff at Wilmot Cancer Center for their care and compassion throughout the many years that Janet courageously fought her cancers.
Friends and family are invited to call on Monday, November 21st from 2-4 PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 3325 Winton Road South, where services will be held in the Interfaith Chapel of the funeral home at 4PM.
