Kathleen “Kathy” Margaret Vogt passed away November 22, 2022 at the age of 69. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Adele Vogt; her former husband Tim Gebelein; her nephew Michael Vogt; and her daughter, Courtney Gebelein. She is survived by her brothers Chris (Meg) Vogt, George Vogt, William “Nelson” Vogt (Nancy), Thomas Vogt, John (Ron) Vogt; her sister Mary Trombley(Ken); her daughter Sarah Tedesco(Joseph); grandchildren Colin Boyle, Violet Tedesco and Harrison Tedesco; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, friends, and her dear friend Alexandra Cohn.

Kathy grew up on Seneca Drive in Plattsburgh, surrounded by a large, loving family, and many friends. She often remarked upon how lucky she was to have such a wonderfully supportive family. She graduated from Beekmantown High School in Plattsburgh, and later moved to Rochester, NY.  Kathy worked at many restaurants throughout her career and truly loved her coworkers and customers. She was a vivacious “people person” who had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, and made friends everywhere she went.  In the 80’s, she took and passed the firefighters test, in the tradition of her family, but perhaps just to say she could do it. She loved nature and especially animals. She would rescue any injured or sick animals she encountered (including a pheasant once) and adopt the unwanted pets. She especially loved her cats and always took care of strays.

In lieu of flowers, please consider adopting an animal, befriending a lonely person or making a donation to Mary Cariola Center (in honor of her “Boo”). CLICK HERE to donate online.
