Carolyn F. (Willbrandt) Amodeo
Mrs. Carolyn F. (Willbrandt) Amodeo, 81, died Thursday at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, where she had been briefly in hospice care after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She is predeceased by her parents Franklin M. and Myrtle V. (DePew) Willbrandt, her brothers Richard A., George A., John H. and sister Nancy L. Dorner.
She is survived by her sister Judy Brown of Battle Creek, MI, her son Mario (Irma) Amodeo of San Diego, CA, daughters Nancy Frossard of Staunton, VA, and Victoria (Daniel) Dickerson of Rochester, NY, six grandchildren whom she adored, and many nieces, nephews.
Born in Battle Creek, MI in 1941, she enjoyed a very happy childhood and graduated from Temple University BFA, 1963. She lived in Middletown, NY for most of her adult life. She married John Amodeo in 1965, later divorcing in 1981. She worked as an art teacher in Newburgh and Middletown schools and as a homemaker and substitute teacher following. She was a devoted mother and known for her kind, generous and sweet spirit.
She was a born again Christian and active member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance (Crossroads) Church for nearly 50 years where she made many beloved friends.
Calling hours will be held at Miller Funeral Home 3325 South Winton Rd., Rochester, NY on Wednesday, February 8th 5-7pm and a memorial service will be held in early April at Crossroads Church in Middletown, NY. Interment will be at Floral Lawn cemetery in Battle Creek, MI.
