Ruth Ann Unzicker was born October 25, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska but grew up in Denver, Colorado.  She is predeceased by her parents Harry and Ruth (Yenney) Unzicker and sister Judith Roy.  Ruth is survived by her husband Christopher Husson; sister Valerie Hanna; nieces and nephews, David McKay Jr., Tonya (Chris) Carr and Lynn Roy; great-niece Priscilla McKay and great-nephew Travis Carr.

After graduating from West High School she attended University of Denver where she earned a BA degree in Mathematics and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.  She later received an MBA degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

After college Ruth moved to Rochester, New York to join the Eastman Kodak Company in 1969 as a Business and Technical trainee.  She had a successful career at Kodak handling a variety of assignments in business research, planning and marketing within several divisions at Kodak.  Her divisional experiences included positions in Kodak’s photographic product group, the commercial and information systems group and healthcare.  In 1989 Ruth was appointed Regional Business General Manager and Vice-President, Clinical Diagnostics Division for U.S., Canada and Latin America.

Ruth lived in Pittsford with her husband whom she married in 2000.  In retirement Ruth volunteered with Literacy Rochester and became an avid genealogist tracing her family origins back to Germany.

With her husband by her side, Ruth died unexpectedly but peacefully February 20, 2023 from complications of cardiovascular disease.

Services are to be held privately.  For those wishing to make a donation in her name, two of Ruth’s favorite charities are The Salvation Army, Rochester [NY] Area and Lollypop Farm (Humane Society of Greater Rochester).
