Kevin John Lang, 69, of Rochester, NY, passed away peacefully on February 18, in Raleigh, NC, unexpectedly after a six-month battle with an unknown progressive illness.

He was predeceased by his brother, William Lang; mother, Dorothy Jean Lang; and father, Donald Marmie; step-parents, Herb (Susan) Lang; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ada and Alfonso Mastro. Kevin is survived by his [ex] wife, Mona Lang (Walt Novitski); daughters, Jennifer and Stefanie Lang (Morgan Bill); granddaughter, Rylee Bill, sister, Polly (Dick) Youll, his closest friend, Susan Engel, and his dogs, Doc and Gypsy, which he adored.

Kevin was born on November 19, 1953, in Lockport, NY. Kevin’s legacy is his family, for which he cherished deeply and supported unwaveringly until the end. He was an extremely successful entrepreneur who managed his business (KJ Lang Plumbing & Heating) with compassion and prioritization for those in need, helping schools, underserved neighborhoods and families stay warm in the winter. Kevin’s talents ranged from composing beautiful poetry, to baking delicious meals, to always picking the winning horse at the Kentucky Derby. He enjoyed walking at Mendon Ponds and being around loved ones. He will be remembered forever as an intelligent, witty, and honest man, willing to help anyone at the drop of a dime. He was the best father, grandfather, partner, and friend anyone could ask for. He will be missed until the end of time.

A Memorial Service in his honor will be held at the Interfaith Chapel at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services (3325 Winton Road South) on Monday, March 6 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, please donate in memory of Kevin to the ALS Association at www.als.org.
