Mark A. Saxby, a Bloomfield native and lifelong Canandaigua resident, passed away suddenly, July 6th, 2023, at his home in Rochester, surrounded by his loving family, after a five-year battle with COPD.

Mark was born in Canandaigua, NY on May 18th, 1965, to Martin and Mary Lou Saxby. He attended Bloomfield schools, went on later to receive his GED, and obtain many credits from FLCC. He worked for many years in the local construction industry, but also loved being on a dairy farm. He was a passionate Harley Davidson enthusiast. He loved working with wood, and had an obsession with putting together model cars, trucks and planes. He was truly, by his own words, “A jack of all trades, master of none “.

Mark was predeceased in death by his oldest daughter, Kaythryn Saxby, his mother and father, Martin and Mary Lou (Sangster), and his sister, Shirley Keukelaar.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Stephanie (Feldman) Saxby; his sons: Robert Bergman, Mark Bergman, Justin Appleby, and Riley Saxby; his daughter, Hannah Saxby; sisters, Bonnie Doles and Lynn Burse; his grandchildren: Breonna Newell, Chase, Ryker, and Landon Bergman, Kaythryn and Emmalyne Bergman, and Dakari Nelson. As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life/picnic is planned for this Friday, July 21st, 2023, at 3pm at Pierce Park, 5655 Goodale Rd, Canandaigua, NY 14424. Anyone attending is asked to consider bringing a dish to pass (it is absolutely not a requirement). Please bring any photos you may have of Mark to share!! We truly hope to see everyone there.
