Passed away July 23, 2023 in Henrietta, New York at the age of 86. Takako was predeceased by her father Shoichi, her mother Kikue and her brothers Kenji, Reizo and Osamu. She is survived by her husband, Richard, brother Fumio, daughters Michiko (Phil) and Kimiko (Jonathan), grandchildren Alyson (Joseph), Zachary (Katelyn), Megan Mariko and Katelyn Kimiko, great-grandchildren Michael Patrick and Milo Phillip.

Takako was born on January 9, 1937 in Hamamatsu, Japan, the oldest child in a family of five children. During the war, she helped raise her younger brothers. She got married in Japan on April 15, 1962. Takako moved to America in late 1962 without knowing anyone or speaking English. She loved her family, always carrying pictures in her purse to show people. She also loved gardening, ping-pong and cooking for the family.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 30 at 4 pm at Atonement Lutheran Church, 1900 Westfall Rd, Rochester, NY 14618.
