Sharon Marie Taylor, 67 died peacefully on September 9 surrounded by family and friends. Sharon was born and raised in Syracuse, NY where she attended Our Lady of Lourdes School and graduated from Westhill High School developing a lifelong interest in art. Sharon cultivated a keen sense of aesthetics- she was a knowledgeable art history devotee, decorated her home with refined taste, loved plants and gardening, and was renowned for her baking-especially her chocolate-chip cookies, brownies and Christmas treats. Above all her friends and family will miss her dry humor and sage perspective couched in wry, and uncannily apt, witticisms. Sharon was most recently employed by Wayside Gardens in Macedon after a long career in retail management in the greater
Rochester area.
Sharon is survived by her siblings: Denise (John) Taylor-Edwards of Strathroy, Ontario, Canada, R. Vincent (Cheryl) Taylor Cazenovia, NY, Margo (David) Tucker of New Paltz, NY and Katie (Nick) Ciccone of Waltham, Mass. Sharon was ‘Aunt Sail’ to her nieces and nephews, Kirsty, Andrew, Nicholas, Jillian, Christina, Sean, Emily, and Will. and her great-nieces/nephews Chloe, Madison-Gray, Grayson, Brinley and Aisling. She is predeceased by her parents Ralph and Margaret (Peg) Taylor, her siblings Timothy, Thomas and Teresa and her niece Amanda Roy. Sharon also leaves behind several cousins, various lifelong friends from her childhood summers at Otisco Lake and numerous coworkers and cherished friends.
Her loved ones express sincere appreciation for the excellent care provided by her medical team and especially for the extraordinary, humanistic attention of the ICU staff at Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua.
