Joseph W. Quinn Jr,

Joseph W. Quinn Jr, (72), of Rochester, New York, passed away at home on September 16, 2023, having been in poor health for several years.

Joseph, known to his family and friends as Jay, was born to Joseph and Shirley Quinn on May 11, 1951 in Albany, New York. Jay studied history at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, and obtained his master’s degree in communications at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. Jay spent most of his career in advertising and marketing, serving as the Managing Partner at Eric Mower and Associates (EMA) for 28 years and later serving as the Vice President of Marketing at Al Sigl Community of Agencies and Director of Marketing and Client Services at Harter Secrest & Emery LLP. Jay was also an adjunct professor at RIT’s Saunders College of Business. He served on the boards of St. Ann’s Community and the Upstate New York chapters of the National MS Society and Boy Scouts of America. Jay was an avid golfer and a lifelong Yankees fan.

Jay is survived by his wife Nancy and three children: daughter Alix and sons Andrew and Nick (Victoria). He is also survived by his mother Shirley, sisters Deb Connell (Rich) and Susan Quinn, brother John Quinn (Leslie), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Joseph and sister Sarah Beeler (Ed).

We plan to have a celebration of life in summer 2024 in Saratoga Springs, New York. Saratoga was near and dear to Jay’s heart, as he loved going to the Saratoga Race Course.
