Donald Matthew O’Brien, of Rochester, New York, passed away on October 11, 2023.  Donny was born to Thomas and Virginia (Grandpa OB and Ginny), on December 25, 1951.  Donny is predeceased by his parents, his brothers David (Kathy) and John, and sister Patty Trill (Mike).  He is survived by his three children Matt, Dan (Jamie), and Colleen Lazary (Alex); grandchildren Kayla Hansen, Danny, Aidan, Jonathan, Finn, and Dean Lazary; siblings Terry Braun (Joe), Dennis (Jackie), Jimmy (Amy), Judy Rank (Cliff), Reenie Coon (Marty), Trinky Montemarano (Joe), Moira Mahosky (Joe), Tommy (Georgeann), and Joanie; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Donny grew up in Henrietta, had a long career at Monroe Community College, and raised his family in Fairport.  He enjoyed cooking, gardening, golfing, playing horseshoes, and frequent visits to the casino.  He had a talent for filling rooms with laughter and always had a joke at the ready with his quick wit.

Donny’s children will host calling hours on Monday, October 16^th from 4pm – 7pm at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services (3325 S Winton Rd, Rochester, NY 14623).  A private service will be held for family to attend.  In lieu of flowers, buy yourself a scratch off or lottery ticket.  A Celebration of Life will take place at the Victor Village Inn (34 E Main St, Victor, NY 14564) on Tuesday, October 17^th at 3pm.  All are welcome to attend.

All who know Donny would agree that he would have an inappropriate comment to share at this moment to keep the laughter flowing.  Smell you later.
