James A. Carra

Fairport – Formerly of Victor, passed peacefully on October 30, 2023 at age 75. He is predeceased by his parents, Tony and Marian Carra; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tony and Gerri Randazzo; and brother-in-law, Steven Grant. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Josephine; children, Jim A. (Joan) Carra Jr., Jennifer (Eric Whalen) Carra and Samantha (Ben) Crowe; grandchildren, Mackenzie Carra (Nicole Phillips) and Haley Carra (Liam Collins); great-grandsons, Luca Carra and Theodore Carra-Collins; brother, David (Carrie) Carra; sister-in-law, Maria Grant; several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
Jim was the past Director of the Monroe County Veteran’s Service Agency and was involved with many veteran’s organizations. He devoted many hours to the service of veterans.
Jim was ordained as a Catholic Deacon on May 30, 2009 by Bishop Matthew Clark. Most recently, he served at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Mendon.
Family and friends may call at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services of Victor, 301 W. Main Street, Victor on Friday, November 3, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. His Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, 1:00 PM at St. Catherine of Siena Church (26 Mendon Ionia Rd, Mendon, NY 14506). Interment private.
