Hilda Elizabeth (Bauer) Morris, 78, of Rochester, NY has passed away on November 8, 2023 with family members by her side at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY after a long battle with congestive heart failure and end stage renal failure.

Hilda was born on May 30, 1945 to her parents Harold and Alice (Betts) Bauer. Hilda was the middle daughter of three. The family moved to Niagara Falls, NY where Hilda attended Madonna High School, and then Erie County Community College- where she earned her associate’s degree in culinary arts.

Hilda was employed by the Rochester Telephone Corporation for 27 years and was most proud of her ability to be one of the first women to lay fiber optic cable lines in the manholes around Rochester.

Hilda was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Terry Patrick Morris.

Hilda is survived by her two loving sisters Ann (Bauer) Graczyk of Depew, NY and Jean (Bauer) Bowman and her significant other Larry Trivett of Cleveland, OH.

She is also survived by her three children and five stepchildren. Her son Andy Bloom and his wife Sue Bloom of Rochester, NY and their children Kelly, Chelsea, Stacey, Shannon and Tim. Her son Jeff Bloom and his wife Dana Bloom of Churchville, NY and their children Heather, Nathan, Justine, Charlotte and Jonah. Her daughter Michelle (Bloom) Leduc and her partner Lyn Porter of Williston, VT and her children Ashleigh, Bethany and Kane.

Her stepchildren are Helen (Morris) Saxby, Tom Morris, Sean Morris, Kathy (Morris) and Marty Morris and their spouses and their children and grandchildren. Hilda is also survived by her nieces and nephews Kathy, Susan, Laura, Lynn and Bill as well as great grandchildren Noah and Bodie.

Hilda loved spending time outside camping and fishing in the 1000 Islands as well as recently taking care of her pets Clancy and Rocky as well as her numerous chickens that she named and sang her Chickeree Chick song.

Hilda was a loving sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed with heavy hearts as she is now resting easy in God’s heavenly kingdom. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday November 15th, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Martin de Porres Parish at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 99  Main Street, Scottsville, NY 14546. Rite of Christian Burial for Hilda will follow to St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Victor, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to support Lollipop Farm, 99 Victor Rd, Fairport, NY.
