Rosemary Francis Bird, aged 90, passed away on February 15, 2024. She was a beloved mother, wife, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Rosemary was born on May 11, 1933, in East Rochester, New York, where she spent her formative years and graduated from Jefferson High School. Her secretarial career ranged from smaller professional firms to some of the larger corporations in Rochester, including Xerox and Wegmans. Throughout her career, she was known for being personable, dedicated  and hard working.

But more than anything, Rosemary was a devoted mother. She loved spending time with her son, sharing stories, playing backyard sports (to the best of her abilities), and watching their favorite TV shows. She was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

In her free time, Rosemary enjoyed drawing, painting, gardening, and singing. She was always eager to share her knowledge and enthusiasm with others. She was an active member of her community, participating in various organizations including the local garden club, the Red Hats Society, and the Chili Senior Citizens Club.

Rosemary is survived by her loving husband, Russell Bird; her son, William Michael Martin (Patricia); her stepchildren Dr. Russell Brid (Leigh) and Shelly McCarty (Dave); her grandchildren, Jennifer Martin and Megan Stevens (Jamaal); her great-grandchildren, Juile Stevens and Nina Stevens; her brother-in-law, Robert Hartman; her niece, Trichia Bertino (Joseph); and her nephews, Robert Hartman (Khiet) and Michael Hartman (Sara). Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theresa and Michael Palmer, and beloved younger sister, Joanne Hartman.

Calling hours to be held from 2 to 4 pm on Monday, March 4th at Miller Funeral Home. Services and burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hildebrandt Hospice Care (WEBSITE)
