Gloria Ricco (Paolino)

On May 23, 2024 at age 95. A proud American, Gloria serenely transitioned to heaven surrounded by love. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Ricco; her beloved son Stephen Ricco; parents Frank and Margaret Paolino and siblings, Louise Paolino, Louis Paolino, Phyllis Paolino & Carl Paolino. She is survived by her devoted daughter Renée Ricco; loving grandson Jon Ricco; loving great-grandson Roman Ricco; siblings Frances (Joe) Leva & Peggy Siciliano; in-laws Joseph & Mary Recco & Mary L. Recco; many nieces & nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; longtime good friend Patricia Fitzsimmons.

The family extends a very special thank you to Gloria’s companions Linda, Sandra, Amy, and the dedicated caregivers of Ultimate Grace.

Born and raised in Rochester NY, Gloria had a humble spirit and a calm demeanor, was a passionate and avid reader who loved studying history and world affairs. She dreamed of attending college to become a history teacher. At the age of 18, the “middle” child of 7, her plans for college were abruptly changed as she was called upon to help care for her 3 younger siblings when her mother passed away. After this pause in her education, Gloria attended the Rochester Business Institute, receiving training to become a legal secretary. Gloria had a prolific career that started working next to her husband John as he began to grow his business as a stockbroker. She was first and foremost a loyal and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sibling, aunt, and friend.

During the tender years of her children’s upbringing, Gloria was a homemaker, guiding and supporting her children, and after, re-entering the workforce, she became a trusted Executive Legal Secretary.

A woman of deep faith with a gentle soul, she gave strength to her immediate family, crafting a beautiful and hospitable home where she was always a gracious hostess to family and friends. She excelled in cooking and demonstrated her love by making homemade pasta for special occasions and holidays. Gloria was gifted artistically and enjoyed sketching and watercolor painting.
