Marilyn graduated to glory on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 2:34 AM at Highland Hospital. She grew up in Argyle, NY with her adoptive parents, the late Everett and Dorothy Schmidt. She moved to Westerly, RI during her high school years and then to Boston, MA for a career as a Keypunch Operator at John Hancock. She retired from Brighton Central School District Council Rock Elementary School after 24 years of service.

Marilyn loved her church, Southside Church of Christ.  She and her husband served as caretakers for the church for many years. Marilyn enjoyed theater, traveling, boating, and bowling.

She is survived by her dear friend, Juanice Morgan; pastor, Bryan Buttram; caregivers, Karen McEvoy, Samuel and Mattie Snowden; and a host of church family members.

Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, John Barry; and her rescued feline babies-Sassy, Champ, Pounce, Bandit, Ginger, Smoky, and Buttercup.

Memorial Service to be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Southside Church of Christ, 1489 Calkins Rd, Pittsford, NY.
