November 1, 2024. Donald J. Dobesh, Sr. of Rochester, NY. Was predeceased in death by his devoted wife of 69 years, Helen Kiely Dobesh. Beloved father of Geralyn Ferrari (Richard), Donald Jr. (Karen) and Garrett (Paula). Cherished grandfather of Lisa, Shane, Caroline, Katelyn, Michael, Megan, Bridgette, Bobbie, Kyle and Brian and great-grandfather of four.

A resident of West Henrietta for 55 years, Don was born in Jersey City, N.J. as the only child of Vera (Carpenter) and Emil Dobesh. Upon graduation from Dickinson High School, Don entered the United States Army on June 27, 1949 where he later received the Army of Occupation Medal, Germany, June 30, 1952 and was honorably discharged on November 8, 1952. He worked in Design Engineering with US government contracts for several years. Ultimately, he joined General Motors at Rochester Products (later Delphi) as an Engineering Designer for automobile fuel delivery systems and was awarded multiple patents for fuel injection designs. Don was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed history and war novels. He was a gardening and weather enthusiast and loved to spend time with his family.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Marianne Cope at 2061 East Henrietta Rd. Rochester, NY 14623 on Thursday November 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Ascension Garden Cemetery in Henrietta, NY.
