After a long illness, on February 11, 2025, Michael (Mike) John Keane of Rochester, NY passed from this world into eternity to be with his beloved wife and soulmate Denise Marie (Ayling) Keane. Mike is also preceded in death by his parents Michael James Keane and Kathleen (Golden) Keane both of West Ireland. He is survived by his sister Patty, Aunt Mary, Cousin Jim, close friend Mike, and several other cousins in New York, Connecticut and across the pond in Ireland & England.

Mike devoted many years of his political career working passionately and rising to any challenge which presented for the Democratic Party in his state and county roles. He was a senior staff member for the late Assemblyman Roger Robach and the late Congresswoman Louise Slaughter. Mike also was a regional organizer for SIEU 1199. In addition, Mike was the Deputy Director of Communications under Mayor Bob Duffy and Mayor Tom Richards.

Some of Mike’s greatest joys were the times he spent with his wife camping, cooking and traveling. They are now buddies together in heaven forever.

A graveside ceremony will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (section 33) 2461 Lake Avenue, Rochester, New York 14612, on Friday afternoon June 6th, 2025, at 2:00pm. Thereafter, a Celebration of Life in Mike’s honor will be held at the Stutson House 36 Stutson Street, Rochester, New York 14612 until 5:00pm. All are welcome.
