Judith Smith

Fairport, NY: Judy Smith passed away on May 27, 2025 at age 84. She was predeceased by her parents, Marinus and Hildreth Antonovich and her sister, Joanne (Antonovich) Dix.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Damon and Marilee Buffum; daughter Lisa Rodriguez; grandchildren, Chloe, Colin, Darby, Riley, Danielle, Nathan, Grace, Sam, Andrew and Olivia; brother Tom (Antonovich)Treiman, 10 great-grandchildren and many dear friends.

Judy was born in New York City and she had many happy memories of growing up in NYC suburbs. She attended the University of Vermont and, after briefly living in Vermont and New Jersey, she moved to Seattle, WA with her 2 children. She was employed at the University of Washington for 27 years and developed a deep love for the outdoors, hiking in the Cascade Mountains, living near Puget Sound and exploring the beautiful Northwest. After retiring in 1998, she relocated to the Rochester NY area to be closer to her family. She remained very active, becoming a member of the Adirondak Club, volunteering for non-profit organizations and the Universalist Church, promoting voting registration and progressive social causes. Judy had a humble, positive sense of humor and her memory will be kept with her family and friends through fun stories that we share.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 3325 Winton Road South. Services and Interment will be held privately.
