Barbara J. Young

Residing in Henrietta, NY, passed away peacefully on September 9^th in Rochester, NY. Born Barbara Jean Jobe to James and Mildred Jobe (Pottenger) in Wabash, IN. Pre-deceased by daughter Jennifer Roets (Young). Survived by daughter and son-in-law Jacqueline Webster (Young) and Paul Deeth, son Owen Young II, and granddaughter Rebecca Young.

Barbara was a proud mother to her children Jennifer, Jacqueline, and Owen, and a caring grandmother to her granddaughter Rebecca. A hard-working single mother, she always expected the best from her family.

After her retirement from Rochester Institute of Technology, she moved to Calkins Corners in Henrietta, where she would often chat with the “ladies in the lobby.” She also spent time at the Henrietta Senior Center, where she made many good friends, including Frank Scialdone.

Some of her favorite things were celebrating holidays with friends and family, as well as spending time with her beloved cat, Sweet Pea.

Visitation to be held from 4:00-6:00 PM on THURSDAY, September 18, 2025, at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 3325 Winton Rd. South.

A Celebration of Life for Barbara will be held from 2:00-4:00PM on SUNDAY, September 21, 2025, in the community room at Calkins Corners Apartments, 725 Calkins Road.
