Elaine Kaye Hinman-Toomey, of Victor, New York, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on March 15, 1949, Elaine lived a life defined by love, generosity, and an adventurous spirit that brought joy to all who knew her.

Elaine shared a cherished and joyful partnership with her husband, Stephen Toomey, with whom she built a life filled with warmth and deep devotion. Together, they embraced spontaneity and exploration—traveling often, spending restorative time at their home in Florida, and savoring the beauty of both extraordinary journeys and everyday moments. Elaine’s love of travel and willingness to embrace new adventures reflected her vibrant curiosity and zest for life.

Elaine was profoundly proud of her daughters Stephanie (Luke) Emerson and Laurie Kettle. She also embraced Stephen’s daughters—Stacia Toomey, Courtney (Jeremy) Nemecek, Katie (Kevin Cook) Toomey, and Amber (Jesse) Hall—as her own, forming meaningful relationships rooted in love and genuine care. She celebrated all of her daughters achievements, supported their dreams, and surrounded them with unwavering love.

Being a grandmother was one of Elaine’s greatest joys. She delighted in her 15 grandchildren—Jack, Sam, Jayson, Will, Kayley, Liam, Connor, Wyatt, Sophia, Owen, Leeland, Emma, Everly, Easton, and Grace—and eagerly anticipated welcoming another grandchild soon. Each child held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every moment of laughter, storytelling, and togetherness.

Elaine will be remembered for her spontaneous, free-spirited nature. She had a gift for saying “yes” to new experiences, embracing life’s surprises with enthusiasm. Her beloved dogs were constant companions and a source of daily joy, reflecting her deep love for animals and the simple comforts of home.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband Stephen, her six daughters, her grandchildren, her brothers Marc, Mike, cousin Nancy, and their families, Stephen’s siblings and their families, and her extended circle of loved ones and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and joyful adventure that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 2-4pm at the Miller Funeral Home in Victor, NY. A prayer service will be held immediately following at 4pm. A private burial will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family invites loved ones to honor Elaine’s memory through an act of kindness, a walk with a beloved pet, or time spent in a place that brings joy and peace.
