Nancy Lee Fabrize (Irland), age 85, passed peacefully on January 18, 2026, in Rochester, New York, surrounded by the love of her family. Nancy lived a life rooted in devotion-to her family, her friends, and the many communities she called home.
Nancy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roger Fabrize; her brothers, George and Gale Irland; her sister, Janet TenEyke; her sister-in-law, Helen Irland; and her brother-in-law, Al TenEyke.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Kelly (Peter) Growney and Kim (Jim) Shelton; her grandchildren, Kristen (Kevin) Cooper, Jordan (Katie Turner) Growney, Nicole (Todd) Tarantello, Kristin (Kyle) Owens, and Annie Shelton; her five great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters; her sister-in-law, Sue Irland; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Born on August 1, 1940, in Waterloo, New York, Nancy graduated from Waterloo High School in 1958 and soon after, married her high school sweetheart, Roger Fabrize, in June of that same year. Together they built a beautiful life, eventually settling in West Henrietta, New York in 1966 to raise their family. Nancy dedicated many years of service to the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at RIT, working as Assistant to the Dean of the College from 1976 until her retirement in 1995.
Nancy’s life was filled with love, laughter, and adventure. She treasured traveling with family and friends-especially trips to the Florida beaches-but her greatest joy came from time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her weekly family dinners, including her famously delicious eggplant parmesan, shopping every mall within a 100-mile radius, and the quiet moments spent reading books with her great-grandsons. Nancy was also deeply connected to her community, enjoying time with friends in both Waterloo and Henrietta.
While her life was full and well-lived, Nancy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with Roger (Dad/Papa) and her loyal furry companion, Spike. Nancy’s legacy is one of unwavering love, warmth, and family-a legacy that will live on through generations.
In lieu of services, a Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2026 for family and friends.
