Eileen Wurz Hunter passed peacefully in her home on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

She was predeceased by her husband, James C. Hunter, and her parents, Harold Wurz and Mary Price. Survived by her children: Jared Price Hunter, and Maria O’Healy Hunter; her children-in-law: Erica Richman and Eduardo Miranda; grandchildren, Leif Richman Hunter, Sophia Hunter Miranda, and Caio Hunter Miranda; sister, Catherine Ehlinger; her honorary sisters: her women’s group; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eileen grew up in Utica before moving to Rochester to continue her education. She received her undergrad from Nazareth University, and kept many lifelong friends from her time there. They stayed close traveling together and enjoying regular game nights. She was a lifelong Clinical Social Worker, getting her degree from Smith College, School of Social Work and working at Convalescent before maintaining a private practice for over 40 years. A voracious reader, Eileen found great joy in discussing and sharing books and took to writing as the toast-master, speech writer and comedienne of her women’s group. Her community and her friendships were incredibly important to her and she will be missed by all who loved her.

Her Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Interfaith Chapel of Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 3325 Winton Road South, Rochester.

Donations may be made in Eileen’s name to The Center for Teen Empowerment (teenempowerment.org).
