Cynthia Keiser Bauer (Originally of Irondequoit and Fairport, N.Y., Toms River, N.J. and most recently Delft, The Netherlands) was called home to her Lord on Friday, May 8, 2026. A devoted daughter and friend, predeceased by her mother Joan, her father and her brother George. Cindy leaves behind Peter, her beloved husband of 39 years. Also survived by her niece Amy Miller and her closest friends, Joi Oberman and Eileen Pavia.
Cindy’s most cherished moments came in the 25 years she acted as president of Greyhound Adoption of Greater Rochester (GAGR). During that time Cindy helped find homes for over 1300 retired racing greyhounds. Not only did she treasure the wonderful dogs but all of the people who adopted them and helped in the process.
Cindy greatly valued her years spent working at Transmation and Weschler Instruments, as well as her many childhood friends from Holy Redeemer Grammar School. Cindy leaves behind her loving dogs, Whinie and Bosco. Waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge were her dogs, Candy, Penny, Daisy, Violet, Rose, Heidi and Oscar, as well as the many greyhounds she fostered along the way. She’ll be remembered by everyone she met as the loving, caring person she was. Cindy was always smiling and willing to help someone in need. She will be forever missed and leaves a hole in many hearts.
Celebrate Cindy’s life tonight with her favorite tuna sub made with real Hellman’s mayo and chocolate milk. Her two favorites.
