With heavy hearts, but also with deep gratitude for the many years we were blessed to share with our angel, Nancy C. Fletcher, we announce that Nancy peacefully became our forever angel on Friday, May 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends, at the proud age of 95.
Nancy was predeceased by her dear husband, William Fletcher; Donald G. Sackrider (our Dad); Robert Moore and his son, Brad Moore; five siblings; her eldest son, Donald G. Sackrider Jr.; and her cherished granddaughter, Kelly Sackrider.
She is survived by her loving children, Robert (Dorie) Sackrider and Nancy (Matt) Murray; her daughter-in-law, Mary Kay Sackrider; her grandchildren, Christopher Sackrider, Cody Murray, Bob Sackrider, and Anna Murray; and her treasured great-grandson, Ryder Johns.
Nancy grew up in Rochester and attended Madison High School. At a young age, she met and fell in love with Donald Sackrider, and together they began a life filled with adventure as they traveled extensively during his military career while raising their family. Eventually, they returned to Rochester following Don’s retirement.
When life took them in separate directions, Nancy showed the strength and independence that defined her through her final days. She later married Robert Moore, and during his long illness, she cared for him with unwavering devotion and compassion. Later in life, Nancy married William Fletcher, with whom she shared a joyful and love-filled marriage. Together they laughed, traveled, played, and loved one another so deeply they often felt like kids again. They made their home in Las Vegas, where they built a beautiful life together until Bill’s passing from cancer 16 years ago. Nancy then returned to Rochester to spend her remaining years surrounded by family.
Nancy stayed young by embracing the things she loved. She was fiercely competitive in her many bowling leagues and proudly bowled several perfect games throughout her life. She loved Las Vegas and all the excitement that came with it, often enjoying the slot machines and always seeming to have luck on her side. Nancy loved food—whether preparing a meal or simply gathering around the table to share one with those she loved.
One of Nancy and Bill’s favorite traditions was taking evening drives at dusk through Mendon Ponds Park to watch the deer and enjoy nature’s quiet beauty. She also adored her beloved pets—Penny, Pepper, and Precious Angel—and we take comfort in knowing they were waiting to greet her at Heaven’s gates.
Nancy’s family and friends were the center of her world. She lived for the conversations, visits, hugs, and kisses they shared. Her grandchildren and great-grandson brought her immeasurable pride and joy.
Nancy was deeply loved and will live forever in our hearts. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives.
