With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Theresa Marie (Barone) Messineo on June 6, 2026, peacefully at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY at the age of 70.  Born on May 10, 1956, Theresa was a lifelong resident of Henrietta, New York, and lived a life marked by generosity, compassion, strength, and deep devotion to her family and faith.

Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Gary Messineo, who she married on July 14, 1984 and her parents, Samuel and Mary Barone.  She is survived by her brother Chuck Barone, Sister-in-Laws Brenda (Blackwell) Barone and Marie Dunn, nieces Savannah Makowski, Tammy Lueders, Karen Lueders and Georgia Dunn, her nephews Lars Lueders and Rob Makowski, her Godchildren Jonathan Edwards and Spencer Sipe and many cousins, “nieces” and “nephews”.

Theresa spent 55 years singing in the Contemporary Music Ensemble of which she was one of the founding members at Guardian Angels/St. Marianne Cope Roman Catholic Church.  Her passion for music was endless.  It didn’t matter if it was Sunday Mass, Billy Gilman, Todd Hobin or the Skycoasters, Theresa was “IN”.  Theresa spent over 30 years as merchandising manager and marketing advisor to the Skycoasters.  In her professional life Theresa filled many different roles ranging from Customer Service Representative to Property Manager to Salesforce Administrator.

Theresa’s presence will be sorely missed.  Theresa touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her.  Her selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us.

As we lost a remarkable woman, a loving sibling, sister-in-law, aunt, godmother, wonderful friend and most importantly a kind soul, heaven gained a new voice.  As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the love, joy, and kindness that were the essence of Theresa’s being and that she’s being reunited with her beloved Gary in God’s loving care.

Family and friends are invited to call from 3 PM – 7 PM on Friday, June 12, at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. (3325 Winton Road South, Rochester, NY 14623). Theresa’s funeral mass will take place on Saturday, June 13, at 10 AM at St. Marianne Cope Parish at Guardian Angels Church (2061 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14623).  Interment to be held privately.  In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to: ROC Star Academy (349-3 West Commercial St. Suite 2850, East Rochester, NY 14445), designated in Theresa’s memory.
