Christine passed, surrounded by her family, on July 16, 2026, at age 57.

She was predeceased by her father, James Brayer.

Christine is survived by her loving husband, Michael Nelson; children, Lilian Nelson, Sarah Nelson, and Jacob Nelson; beloved family dog, Harvey; sister, Cindy (Tom) Cunningham; and her mother, Judy (Lou VanderMallie) Brayer.

She loved reading any book she could get her hands on – as a reader, she was voracious. She will be remembered for her love of homemaking, particularly cooking and baking her favorite “go-to” dishes for her loved ones. Christine also enjoyed the results of her gardening efforts, namely the gorgeous colors of the flowers she would see. She also loved family trips, whether immediate or extended, to beaches. Myrtle Beach held a special place in her heart.

Christine’s celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
