Richard S. (Dick) Taylor (1935-2026)

E. Rochester- Honeoye Falls- Penfield NY

Dick was born in Akron, Ohio on October 14, 1935 to the late Hoy and Ione (Fitts) Taylor. He attended Akron East High School where met his lifelong love and companion, Nancy Hopkins. They married on July 11, 1953, relocated to western New York, raised their five children, built a comfortable life and enjoyed over 70 years of adventure together. Nancy left this Earth in March of 2024 and now Dick has rejoined her.

All who knew him will remember that Dick lived life in a hurry. He had a zest for life and unlimited energy that could barely be contained in a 24-hour day. While helping raise five children, he founded two successful construction businesses, enjoyed exuberant hours of play and was an active leader of his church. His many passions and pastimes included golf, tennis, boating, fishing, hunting, pro sports, thoroughbred racing, great food, live music, dancing and most of all, travel. But Dick’s true passion was people: his direct, unpretentious manor-coupled with Mom’s relaxed, welcoming demeanor– helped them make new friends and build lasting relationships wherever they went.

Dick is survived by daughters Jeri El Hage, Joni Lucas (Kevin), Jill Willoughby and sons James Taylor (Amelia), Jeffrey Taylor; grandchildren Justin Willoughby (Sarah), Christina El Hage, Jacqueline Jensen (Chris), Laura El Hage-Youbi (Mehdi), Abigail Beachy (Trent), Julia Ludwig (Daniel), Jessica Ryan (Mike), Nicole Taylor, Rachel Taylor, Lindsey Becker (Kevin), Hannah Taylor-Scott (Jean Paul), Cameron Lucas, Johanna Erway, Wren Taylor and Bridget Taylor; great-grandchildren Jack Willoughby, Paris Malone, Ellie Willoughby, Owen Ryan, Ryker Beachy, Mason Ludwig, Silas Beachy, Aiden Youbi, Harlow Beachy, Jordan Ludwig, Bennett Becker and Vivian Beachy.
