Michael Edwin Jacobs, age 72, of Rush, NY, passed peacefully at home on August 14, 2026, surrounded by family after a three-year battle with ALS. He was born in Rochester and later moved to Henrietta. A graduate of Sperry (Rush-Henrietta), he worked at Kodak and Nexpress before starting his own business, Stellar Design & Prototype, in 2013.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, a car aficionado, an inventor and a machinist. For any challenge, he had a solution. He was always helping family and friends with projects or repairs, whether it was physical labor or how-to instruction. He also appreciated golf and enjoyed being on the course with his friends.

Michael is predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Ruth (Wahl) Jacobs, sister Jeanne Czajkowski, brothers Alan Skillman and Gary Skillman, and brothers-in-law Richard Czajkowski and Stan Morey.

He is survived by his devoted wife Barbara (Dool) Jacobs, children; Carie (Mark) Hennessey, Timothy (Tonya) Jacobs, Eric (Sarah) Blum, Jenny (Mark) St. Hilaire, grandchildren; John Hennessey, Elsa (Benjamin) Beckman (Hennessey), Madelynn Jacobs and Timothy Jacobs Jr., sisters; Caroll (Robert) Long and Patricia Morey, sisters-in-law Margaret Skillman and Susan Skillman, his best friend Peter Tuttle and many nieces, nephews, cousins and life-long friends.

A private celebration of life with family and friends will be held at a future date.
