Veronica Cripps (Deacon)

Passed away on August 24, 2026 at age 93. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor; son, Kevin Cripps; son-in-law, Robert Speta; siblings, John Deacon, Peggy Dunbar, Christina Deacon, Danny Deacon, and Brian Deacon.

She is survived by her children, Susan Speta (Mark Hutton), Stephen Cripps, Julie Cripps, Roy Cripps, Jennifer (John) Giorgi, Kathleen (Michael) Grider, Jan Cripps; grandchildren, Brandi (Joseph) Buzard, Robyn (Thomas) Torpey, Matthew (Taylor) Cripps, Megan (Matthew) Lang, Savannah Grider, Madison Grider, Elijah Grider, Andrew Giorgi, Ashton Grider and great-grandchildren Jacob (Lynzy Dixon) Buzard, Nathan Torpey, Grace Torpey, Natalie Lang, Emery Hicks, Amara Cripps, and Deacon Cripps; sister Kathleen Newton and sister-in-law Barbara Deacon; many nieces, nephews and dear loved ones in England.

Veronica was born in Liverpool, England in 1933, the second of 7 children. She was relocated to Wales during World War II at just 6 years old with her younger sister for a total of 6 years. After she returned to Liverpool and became an adult, she joined the British Army. While stationed in Egypt, she met a young British soldier named Victor and they became engaged after just 13 days and married in Liverpool in 1955. Veronica and Victor started their family in Watford and Royston, England. In 1964, they moved with their 5 young children to the United States, settling in Henrietta, where they had 2 more children. In 1988, they moved to Avon and made more wonderful memories together with family and traveling.

Veronica and Victor were married for over 41 years, they had 7 children, 9 grand-children and 7 great-grandchildren. She was affectionately known as Mother, Grandma, and G-G.

The family would like to express our sincere admiration to the all the staff at Highlands of Pittsford Living Center-Floor 3 for the love they gave to our Mom. Knowing that Mom was surrounded by people who genuinely cared for her gave us peace of mind and meant more than words can express. The smiles, gentle words, and daily acts of kindness will always be remembered.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 4:00 – 5:30 PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 3325 Winton Road South, where a service will follow at 6PM in the Interfaith Chapel of the funeral home.
