David C. Cox

David C. Cox, 61, of Henrietta, NY, passed away on October 1, 2026, at home, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous eight-year battle with cancer.

For 35 years, Dave worked for the Penfield Central School District, retiring as the District-Wide Head Custodian. He will be remembered for his tremendous kindness, work ethic, leadership and unforgettable sense of humor. Dave loved spending time with family, playing euchre, hunting, fishing and taking his beloved dog, Meadow, for walks. In the summers, he enjoyed going to car shows and winning numerous trophies with his 1968 Chevy El Camino.

Dave is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Cindy; son Matthew (Melanie) LeRoy; grandson Grayson LeRoy; sister Sheryl (Brent) Rock and their children Kaitlyn and Kevin; brother-in-law Tom (Donna) LeRoy and their children Chad and Brandon; cousin Roger (Laura) Couch; lifelong friends Sue, Larry and Kelly Ford; and Meadow.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 2-4pm at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 3325 Winton Road South, Rochester, with a brief Service to Honor and Remember Dave to follow at 4pm in the Interfaith Chapel of the funeral home.
