Elizabeth “Liz” Schnucker

Pittsford – Passed away on Sunday March 21, 2021 at age 80 after a 20 year long battle with Parkinson’s. Predeceased by her mother, father and brother. Survived by her husband, Al; daughter, Tracy (Mark) Proud; and nephew Peter (Blanca) Doig, as well as friends she forever saw as family. Liz was born in Scotland and would have celebrated our 60th wedding anniversary this summer.

Liz always took it upon herself to make sure no one ever spend a holiday alone. She was there for everyone to listen and empathize over a cup of tea. From writing children’s books, to helping incarcerated women and helping people navigate the hardships of Parkinson’s disease, her abundance of compassion and dedication to volunteering never wavered. She was an artist and poet who shared her gifts selflessly.

She worked at Children’s Network, University of Rochester, United Cerebral Palsy and finally with Al at Schnucker Packaging.

She loved to travel, especially to Scotland and Italy. Dancing, singing, sculpting and golf were her avocations.

Liz will be remembered for her loyalty, love and empathy for others.

Due to the current Covid-19 Pandemic, a Memorial Service in her honor will be held at a later date.

Parkinson’s – Rochester Chapter (1000 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620) was her favorite charity. Click HERE to donate online.
