Anthony J. Mercadel “Deacon Tony”

Henrietta: Passed away on March 29, 2021 at age 88. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean Mercadel; parents, Marcel & Zelia Mercadel; infant daughter, Maryann and many siblings. He is survived by his children, Kevin Mercadel, Daryl (Lisa) Mercadel, Monika Mercadel and Christina Mercadel; grandchildren, Katie and Michael Mercadel; brother, Raymond Mercadel; numerous, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Tony was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Co. and part of the First Deaconate Class in the Diocese of Rochester in 1982, he went on to serve the parish of Saint Marianne Cope for many years, earning the title of Deacon Emeritus.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 7th from 4-8 PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc, 3325 Winton Road South. Due to COVID restrictions you will need to reserve a time to come for calling hours by clicking HERE.

Deacon Tony’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 8th at 10AM at the Cathedral Community at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park, Rochester. The Most Reverend Salvatore R. Matano, Bishop of Rochester officiating. The mass can viewed below. Seating will be limited to 100 people for the mass, you must sign up if you plan to attend by clicking HERE

Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saint Marianne Cope, 3318 East Henrietta Road, Henrietta, NY 14467 in his memory.
