Pittsford – April 1, 2021. At 82 years, Jewel (Cuffare) Verbridge passed away peacefully after a brief non-covid related illness. She was born in Flint Michigan and moved to Canandaigua as a young girl. She raised her family in Pittsford, New York.
Predeceased by her husband Donald Verbridge, her parents, Mary Stella and Wilbur Mathewson, and her brother Max. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Leslie, Laurie (Terry) Bennett, Kimberly DelMonte, Lisa (Paul) Valenza; sister Janet Gascon; grandchildren, Kyle, Tina (Chuck), Austin (Denise), Adam (Lenda), Jennifer (Phil), Samantha, Ryan, Emily (Michael), Jordan, Jillian, Kaitlyn, Andrew and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Stryker.
Mom loved her dogs and raised both Shih Tzus and Chinese Shar-Peis for many years. She drove bus #73 and #123 for Pittsford Central Schools from 1968 to 1995. Mom loved to garden, find treasures at garage sales, sew and refinish antique furniture. She especially enjoyed finding a great sale at JC Penney and Macy’s.
A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Pittsford Volunteer Ambulance Replacement Fund 40 Tobey Road Pittsford New York 14534.
