Following a brief illness and surrounded by family, David Aselin joined his big brother, Thomas Aselin, and loving parents, Joseph and Kathleen Aselin, on April 30, 2021, at the age of 72.

David is survived by his sister, Anne Beck; sister-in-law, Carol Aselin; the caring staff throughout his years at Birch Lane; many nieces and nephews: Kerri (Sean) Kanada, Amy (Joseph Lepinskie) Purcio, Joseph (Sandy) Aselin, Kristopher Smartt, Vince (Kerry) Smartt, Cathleen Smartt, Nicole Aselin (Mark Cooley) and Melissa (Michael) Bellanca. He is also survived by his great nephews and nieces: Gabriel & Annabella Romano, Colin & Joseph Kanada, Stephanie (Brendan) Halbohm, Timothy Aselin, Marissa Smartt, Matthew Harris, Mitchell Peterson, Nathan Cooley, Amanda (Jason) Mancini, Leah (Michael) Gemmati, Grace Bellanca and Zoe Bellanca.

Born in Rochester, NY, David was an avid Baseball (Yankees) fan, who used to love attending Red Wings games with his parents.
David also loved the Buffalo Bills, slapstick humor, dessert, pretty ladies, and his family, especially his parents, brother Tom, and sister Anne.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the staff members at Birch Lane, who cared for David over the years. Lovingly referred to as “King David,” he was the last of the “original” residents, who moved in when the facility opened, nearly 40 years ago.
David’s playful teasing, mischievous smile, and sense of humor will be deeply missed.

Close family and staff members of the Birch Lane home are invited to visit during calling hours from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, May 6, 2021 and to the Memorial Service at 11:00am, Saturday, May 15, 2021. All held at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 3325 Winton Rd. South.

A private graveside service for immediate family members will be held.

The family shares their appreciation for helping to stay within all NY mandates, including building capacity:
