Evelyn Anne Campbell Maihofer, 58, is now at peace after a courageous battle with cancer June 4, 2021. She is survived by loving sons, Ian Andrew Maihofer and Colin Stewart Maihofer; loving mother Anne Campbell; caring and loyal siblings: Steve(Roberta) Campbell, John(Debbie) Campbell, Liam Campbell, Maureen Campbell McIntosh and Alan(Sarah) Campbell; 12 beautiful nieces and nephews: Matthew, Stephanie, Brian, Eric, Lauren, Kate, Sara, Aodhan, Rory, Finnan, Tiernan, and Gemma; and devoted Father-in-Law Walter Maihofer. Predeceased by her soulmate, husband and best friend Jason C. Maihofer (2020); beloved father William Campbell (2021); loving Mother-in-law Judy Maihofer (2012) and wonderful sister-in-law Theresa Maihofer (2013).

Evelyn was born in Scotland and moved to Bloomfield with her family when she was 5 years old. She graduated from Bloomfield where she made life-long friends: Julie Hall-Jugle, Karen Thomas-Strapp and Sherri Thomas-Pantuosco. Evelyn attended SUNY Brockport where she received a degree in Social Work. She moved to Rochester and worked at Hillside Family of Agencies for 25 years. Evelyn worked tirelessly at Hillside, helping children achieve their goals.

It is also at Hillside where she met her soulmate, Jason. They were married in 1992 then moved to Scottsville where they raised their two boys and shared many happy years together. Evelyn loved entertaining friends and family in the home which she carefully and lovingly decorated.

A few short months after losing Jason, Evelyn was diagnosed with cancer. She fought to beat it for herself and her family, traveling to Atlanta for treatment. Her final days were filled with visits from loving family and friends. Evelyn was an amazing mother, sister, wife, daughter, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Evelyn’s life is planned for Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 2pm-5pm at King’s Bend Park South, Pittsford, NY.
