Passed away on September 28th at the age of 87. Predeceased by her husband Edward J. Wilson and her life partner, Harlin F. Schanz. Survived by Carolee and Emad Ali, Jenny Wilson, David and Jacquie Schanz and family, grandsons, Ray (Brit) Ali and Sami Ali.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. Carolyn was born May 8, 1933, in Rome, New York to parents, Ed and Gladys Evans. Carolyn graduated from Oswego College with a Bachelors Degree in Teaching. She later relocated to Rochester, NY where she taught elementary school in the Rochester City School District. She later transitioned from teaching and finished her career in 1998 working for Liberty Mutual Insurance as a Customer Service Representative. Carolyn was also a long time and valued member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church.
Carolyn enjoyed traveling, reading, and her time spent living in Green Valley, Arizona, and the many friends she had there. Carolyn will best be remembered for her dimpled smile, her many contributions to her church, family and friends, and her devoted and caring nature.
A private family service was held at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Carolyn’s memory to John Calvin Presbyterian Church, 50 Ward Hill Road, Henrietta, New York 14467 or Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home, 167 North Main Street, Perry, NY 14530.
Due to Covid concerns and the health and well-being of her friends, a Celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held at a later date.
