Thomas Edward Gosnell, 72, of Boca Raton, FL and formerly of Canandaigua, NY, passed away on July 14, 2021. Tom’s childhood home in the 19th ward of Rochester’s west-side was less than 950 sq ft. He was born the youngest of five sons; he knew what hard work was as his father died of a massive heart attack when he was just 14 years old. After graduating high school, Tom enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served. He was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Shortly after returning home from the military, Tom met the love of his life, Pamela Jane Normand, and they married in August of 1971. Using the GI Bill, Tom went to Monroe Community College while playing college baseball.

Tom’s career began when he went to work for his father-in-law selling homes. After a decade, he founded a successful real estate appraisal business that he owned and operated for over 40 years in the Rochester, Buffalo and Syracuse areas. Roughly 20 years ago, his daughter, Megan, joined the venture as his apprentice and has since become owner of “Century Appraisers” once Tom retired. Tom was so excited to hear his grandsons talk about their future internships when they are old enough to learn the business.
Tom is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pam; their daughters, Lisa (Orlando) Medina; Megan (Jason) Holve; and Erin (Bill) Leuthold; and grandchildren, Zack (Mikayla Gilglia), Charlie, Will, Jack, Mikey, Tommy, Oliver, and Bailey. Also left to cherish his memory are his great grandchildren, Kennedi, Derek, and Nora; his brother, John (Donna) Gosnell; and extended family.

Visiting hours will be held TUESDAY, July 20, 2021, FROM 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services (3325 Winton Rd S) CLICK FOR MAP.
