December 29, 1936 – August 23, 2021 – Harold S. Mars, Jr., 84, of Rochester, NY passed on to eternity on Monday at Strong Memorial Hospital of cardiac arrest and other associated injuries sustained from a pulmonary embolism.
Harold was born in Wakefield, Rhode Island, the oldest child of four children (Harold, David, Roland and Janice) and the son of Harold S. Mars Sr. and Laura L. Fry-Mars. Harold enjoyed a multi-faceted career during his life, having worked as a finishing carpenter, construction foreman, contractor, carpet and linoleum installation specialist, realtor, and small business CEO and President (Camura, Inc., closely associated with Kodak Company), among other vocations. Harold was an extremely talented individual on many levels, a loving and devoted husband and father, and a man who loved the outdoors and travel. Above all, Harold was a passionate believer and follower of Jesus Christ, his adored Lord and Savior.
Harold is survived by his wife Yvonne Carroll, sons Harold S. Mars III (Mary Beth) and Gregory T. Mars (Betty Davis, nee Brundidge), and brother David Mars (Diana). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lauren Hanley (John), Tyler (Kat), Alan (Emily), Kyle (Kerrie) Mars, Paul & Olivia Beckford, great-grandchildren Jake, Nate and Crosby Hanley and Landon Mars, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is pre-deceased by his wife Olivia G. Dean-Mars and daughter Lisa O. Beckford.
Family and friends are invited to call, SUNDAY, August 29, 2021 from 4-7 PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services (3325 Winton Rd S) CLICK FOR MAP. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at the funeral home, MONDAY, August 30th 10 AM. Interment, Oatka Cemetery, Scottsville, NY.
