DIED September 8, 2021

Adriano Dante Apollonio passed away suddenly on September 8, 2021, at age 71. He was born in Gottolengo, Italy to the late Nello (Giuseppe) and Giacomina Apollonio.

Adriano is survived by his daughter, Michelle Torres, her husband, Steven, and their daughter, Isabella; and son, Giuseppe (Joe) Apollonio and his son, Dante. He is also survived by brother, Renato Apollonio and wife, Janet; sister-in-law Brenda Apollonio, wife of predeceased brother, Claudio Apollonio; brother, Antonio Apollonio; brother Attilio Apollonio and wife, Ruth; sister, Patricia Luzzio and husband, Michael; and sister, Diana Adolphson and husband, Kevin. Adriano is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins in Italy, and friends.

Adriano attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and graduated from Edison Technical High School. For many years, Adriano was a custom tailor and co-owned the family business, Nello’s Pants Corporation. He later worked as a custom tailor at Harry Forman’s and Adrian Jules. Adriano’s creativity, talent, and dedication to his craft were unparalleled.

Adriano was a creative man with a great sense of humor, and a love of sports. He was an avid fan of the NY Giants, NY Yankees, AC Milan, and the Boston Bruins. He was a member of the Fairy Grandparents of the Lewis Street YMCA. There he participated in community activities such as: collecting and bundling school supplies into book bags, computer classes, and most recently a day trip to the Corning Museum of Glass.

Adriano was a kind, gentle and loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He loved his family and spending time together. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 11 AM and a Memorial Service will follow at 1 PM at the Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. (3325 Winton Rd South, Rochester NY). Interment private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the YMCA Center for Equity at Lewis Street (WEBSITE), American Diabetes Association (WEBSITE), or the Humane Society at Lollypop Farm (WEBSITE).
