Mary V. Fisher died on November 2, 2021. Born in Rochester in 1942, the daughter of the Rev. Frank and Janet Fisher, Mary lived a life of loving service. She was devoted to the causes of social justice, community development, the care and protection of the earth and all creatures great and small. Mary’s faithfulness to these causes was expressed most passionately in her commitment to protecting the vulnerable. When principles were at stake, Mary was an unyielding advocate; where relationships were concerned she was generous, devoted, and understanding. Mary was a graduate of Goucher College and Cornell Law School and had a Master’s Degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She was an esteemed estate and tax attorney most recently with the firm Bond, Schoeneck and King.
Mary is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Alan Lattime, her nephews, Jeffrey (Suzanne Niedzwiecki), Mark, and her niece Anne (Scott Kanzelmeyer) Lattime as well as six grand-nephews, nieces and several cousins. Friends may gather at Miller Funeral Home, 3325 Winton Road South on Thursday, November 11th from 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A family service of Burial and Committal will be planned for the spring of 2022.
In lieu of flowers, Mary would have been pleased to know that her family and friends were supporting organizations engaged in the work for which she cared. She was particularly passionate about the Rochester Area Community Foundation (Frank and Janet Fisher Fund at Donate Online) and Highland Park Conservancy (Children’s Pavilion) Donate Online 180 Reservoir Avenue, Rochester 14620 or a charity of your choice.
