Charles Edwin Eick
8/5/1933 to 12/4/2021
Survived by his wife Marilynn of 65 years, Brother David (Mary Eick), daughters Catherine, Linda (Dave Vonhold), Dawn (Al Piccolo), son Christopher, Grandchildren Jared Russell, Jessica Russell (Matthew Holland), Ashley Eick (Jason Ritter), Great Grandchildren Dylan, Madison, Nathan and Noah. Nieces Donna, Sue, Cindy, Jennifer and Nephew Norman. Predeceased by his Parents Norman & Laura Eick, Brother Donald, Sister-in-law Pat, Niece Betsy and his In-laws Lloyd & Ruth Mickielsen.
Dad served 8 years for the United States Airforce and loved to travel whenever he could. It didn’t matter if it was an 8 hour drive into Canada for fishing, a cruise to scenic places or flying to exotic locations, he would find a way to go! In 2011, at age 78, his last hurrah was a solo drive from Rochester NY to Anchorage Alaska, across Canada, to see his old high school friend.
Charlie had many jobs over the years including Boy Scout Leader, Gas Station Owner, Tennis Chair Judge, Radio DJ & Announcer, Church Lay Reader and RTS Bus Driver. He loved animals especially his Samoyed Nicki and Luke, his Bernese Mountain Dog. He would feed chipmunks out of his hand at his favorite vacation spot with Marilynn, and always feed the deer, birds and other wildlife outside of his window at the nursing home.
At this time the family is choosing to mourn privately but there will be a service at a later time. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to The Lollypop Farm, a local animal rescue facility. (WEBSITE)
