Cari Lynn Durbin
Cari was born on August 27, 1961. She passed on December 4, 2021 after a long illness. Cari attended school in East Irondequoit graduating from Eastridge High School in 1979. She attended full-time Monroe Community College while working full-time. She had taken a surveyor course which led to her becoming a seasonal employee for the New York State Department of Transportation as an Inspector. Within a few years Cari earned three Associate Degrees from M.C.C. and took several Civil Servant exams. Cari became a full-time DOT employee and worked her way up to a Project Manager dedicating 35 years before retiring.
Cari was a giving person volunteering for the Dansville Fish and Game Club, Growing Places Preschool, a City of Rochester Christmas program for children in need, and Rochester Careers in Construction for youth in Construction Day Bridge Building. She was a dedicated and long time member of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) where, over many years, she held leadership positions at both the local and national levels.
Cari is survived by her husband, Gregory Carroll, parents Robert and Janice Durbin, sister, Cindy Durbin Gates (Glenn Gates), triplets niece and nephews Rebecca Gates, Robert Gates and Russell Gates, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends across the country.
Cari enjoyed reading, crafting, sewing, a love of “Gone with the Wind,” and especially gardening. Her ashes will be spread on her property.
