Thomas Joseph DellaVilla, 64, of Rochester, New York, passed away at home on January 16, 2022. He was predeceased by his mother, Elaine (Livadas) DellaVilla. Tom is survived by his parents, John V. and Sallie R. DellaVilla: his daughter, Diana Cohen (Mark) and one grandson, Ryan Cohen. He is also survived by his siblings, Susan Bower (Steve), Jay (Andrea), Matthew (Sandy), Julie Frainier (Gary), Mary Killian (Timothy), Mark (Theresa), Georgianne DellaVilla, and Joelle Burger (Mike), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom will be remembered as an avid fisherman…and loved to swap a good “fish tale.” He enjoyed the thrill of the catch as much as he relished the preparation and delight of the meals he prepared with his catch. He was well-read and easily engaged in most topics of conversation as his countless friends will affirm. His warm smile and outgoing demeanor welcomed all. He was most at peace in the outdoors, observing nature, gardening, and tending the yard. Tom enjoyed the entertainment of his cats; Panther, Prince and Butchie.
Family will be honoring his life with a funeral mass at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 26 Mendon-Ionia Road, Mendon on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 12 Noon. Following the mass will be interment at Ascension Garden Cemetery, Henrietta.
