January 23, 2022. Predeceased by his parents, William and Molly O’Brien ; brother, Paul O’Brien; brothers in-law, Paul Sanelli, Stanley Pawloski. Survived by his sisters, Anne Sanelli of Fairport, Maureen DiPoala of Webster, Mary Pawloski of Webster, Margaret (James) Haldeman of Irondequoit, Bernadette (Richard) Pruett of Oak Hill, VA, Aileen Secrest of Alexandria, VA; sister in-law, Diane O’Brien of Canandaigua; many nieces, nephews and many cousins in Toronto and New Jersey.
John was a lifelong Victor resident and member of St. Patrick’s parish. He served in the U.S. Navy and had his own roofing and siding business. He volunteered for many years at Serenity House and for Meals on Wheels. He was a charter member of the Black Diamond Social Club. John loved music and was an avid collector of toy trucks, cars and trains. He had an amazing memory. He did daily crosswords, read widely and loved to travel, especially when he was the driver. John was a generous and caring brother, friend and much loved uncle who will be greatly missed.
Friends and family may call Sunday January 30, 2022 from 2-5 at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 301 W. Main St., Victor, NY. John’s Funeral Mass will be held Monday January 31, 2022 10:00 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, Victor. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Serenity House. (WEBSITE)
