Our beloved Ghisslaine Turnier Lamarque passed away at the age of 101 on Thursday February 24 surrounded by her family. She was born in Jacmel, Haiti to Dupre Turnier and Marcia Giordani. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis Lamarque. Ghisslaine is survived by her sons Harry Lamarque and Ivan Lamarque, and her daughter Laurence Antoine, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gigi, as she was called by those who loved her, was the embodiment of “joie de vivre”. The fierce love that she had for her family could only be matched by her love of life. She traveled the world and did so with flair and style — Gigi could often be found partying and dancing in the streets of far away countries with the locals. When she wasn’t traveling, Gigi loved singing, baking delicious treats for her family, and showing off her unrivaled green thumb.

With her fiery and larger than life personality, it was only fitting that Gigi’s favorite color was red. She was always dressed to impress and fully adorned with her favorite jewelry. Gigi was the life of the party and kept her family and friends laughing with her quick-witted comebacks. She was also a fiercely loyal friend and could always be counted on to lend an ear to anyone who needed a friend and a laugh.

Ghisslaine was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
