I knew Mike a long time, as the Williams and Fittos families had roots in Pennsylvania and kept in touch. Mike had more energy and enthusiasm about people than anyone I have ever known. I am so sorry for his family as I know he was a leader and had a positive influence on everyone he met. Being a drummer ( as was Mike), we enjoyed talking about music whenever I saw him. I finally got to see him play at a local establishment several years ago and witnessed his professional drumming skills. He was amazing. The Williams family sends our condolences to all in the Fittos family along with hugs. May God give you all the strength you need at this time.

A part of me has died since losing Mike. We played together 27 years, recorded 5 cds and played virtually every club from Albany to Buffalo. He was a true friend and was the most loyal and talented musician I have ever played with. I’ll miss him forever.

When I think of my cousin Michael I remember happy times as kids riding our bikes and playing in the woods behind our house for hours. We would talk about nature, cars, and of course his favorite, music. Weekends were for fun family times, taking turns at our Aunt, Uncle and cousins houses. Michael had an easy smile, a big heart and a huge hug. He was a great Husband, Dad, Son, Brother, Cousin and Friend. He always enjoyed when his family would come out to hear the band. He would burst with fatherly pride when Vinny played the drums! It was such a joy to witness the love they had for each other. Michael was the definition of a good family man. He loved Vicki and Vincent with his whole being. His spirit and love live on through them. Our hearts and prayers go out to them and Aunt Helen and Lisa. Michael, we love you forever. ❤️ David & Mary Lou Janis

April of 2020 I had the pleasure of working with a team of wonderful people including Mike. Mike added humor and joy to a very tedious project. Mike could tell a story and joke like no other.. My thoughts are with his wife, son and family.

I was saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. I knew Mike through being Vinny’s baseball coach. Mike was always very nice, and I enjoyed talking with him. My heartfelt condolences go out to his wife, son, mother, sister, and other family members. Heaven gained a good guy.

Full of drive and energy, Mike enjoyed working out, playing in the band, deer hunting, spending time with his family and walking the neighborhood with a parrot on his shoulder. Larger than life and quick to give a friendly wave and a hearty hello - Mike was a man's man and will be missed by all who knew him.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. I worked with Mike at Number 1 School and will always remember the love he gave to that building! I have many fond memories of our talks together about his son Vincent, his music, and the best banana bread recipes! He loved Vincent so much and would share his accomplishments with all of us. He loved his family and often told stories about things they would do together! I ran into Mike again at Number 41 School after I retired and began subbing. It was so great seeing him again! Mike’s smile would light up the room and I will miss it! My thoughts are with his family and I hope they can be comforted knowing he impacted so many people for the better! I will miss you Mike! ~Kathy
