Robert Rex Lechner passed away peacefully in his home on April 8, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Bob was predeceased by mother and father, Mayme & Robert Lechner and brother, Kent.

Bob lived his life with passion and determination and looked at each day as a new opportunity. After finishing school, Bob joined the Navy where he served as a communications specialist. Stationed in Bremerhaven, Germany, Bob met his former wife, Angelika. Together they raised two beautiful children Michele & Heidi.

Bob spent 35 years at Xerox and retired as manager for the research center and Xserve. After retiring, Bob found joy in being the king of his mountain at Powder Mills Park which he managed for ten years. He also enjoyed his time as a ski instructor at Swain. Many of his now grown-up skiers credit him for their love of skiing. Bob was an avid bicyclist and a lifetime member of the Rochester Bicycle Club. He was fortunate to be able to ride cross- country with his “five amigos” in 2011. His riding culminated with a dream trip to Mallorca, Spain accompanied by Linda, his dear friends, Wayne & Tammy, and many others. The last 4 years of his life presented Bob with a mountain he constantly struggled to climb. A bicycle accident in May of 2018 left him paralyzed with many complications to follow. He defied all the odds and hung in the race as long as he could.

Bob (aka Bob-O) was a loving father and grandfather who was at his best when he was spending time with family and friends. Bob leaves behind his wife, Linda Lechner, sister, Karen Lechner, children Michele & Heidi, step-children Michele (John) Maloney, Matt (Lisa) McConville, Shannon (Tim) Hay, and Erin (Dave) Secker and grandchildren Jake & Jesse LaPlant, John, Megan & Ryan Maloney, Braeden & Gavin McConville, Tanner, Camden, Shelby & Gage Hay, and Teagan, Jaden & Brody Secker. The family is so appreciative of the support received from the many caregivers over the years, especially from his favorite ladies, Venita & Angela.

Bob took his last ride up to heaven to be at peace with loved ones and family that have predeceased him, but he will be greatly missed.
