Judith M, “Judy” Pata
Passed unexpectedly on April 5, 2022 at the age of 62.
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Judy was born in Rochester NY on August 14, 1959, to Hendrik and Hester Vanderleer, who predeceased her.
Survived by her loving husband of 41 years, John, daughters, Vanessa (Eddie) Ruiz, and Marian Pata, sister, Nicole (Eddie) Fontenot, brothers Robert (Paul) Vanleer and Peter Vanderleer, grandchildren Izzy and Hazel Ruiz, nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
Judy was an accomplished and respected dietitian and most recently worked at Rochester Regional Health, where she leaves behind many more friends and co-workers.
Judy loved the color yellow, the sunshine (despite a tendency to burn) and swimming in the lake in the Adirondack Mountains. She enjoyed a good book, a good cup of tea, and working in her garden. Above all else, she loved her family, and made it her mission to make sure they knew. Her greatest treasures were her children and grandchildren, and she gave them the world.
Judy has joined the mother she loved, where we are certain they are sitting on a front porch, enjoying glasses of wine, faces to the sun.
In Judy’s memory we ask that you spend time with the people you love, go outside, and enjoy the little things in life.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time. Donations in her memory may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Avenue / Suite 902, New York, NY 10018 Donate Online
I got no deeds to do
No promises to keep
I’m dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me
Life I love you, all is groovy
