On June 20, 2022. Helen Sybil Bernardino, passed away at the age of 96 in Land-O-Lakes, Florida. Born in Rochester, NY on April 16, 1926 , she was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years Joseph A. Bernardino, and her parents Richard and Emma McNally.
Helen was an only child and she spent her early years growing up Charlotte, NY and the Lake Ontario area. She and her dad were inseparable and they spent countless hours together outdoors fishing, camping, boating and hunting. And her mom kept her focused and self-reliant so that she could face any challenge that came her way. She graduated from Nazareth Academy and eventually went on to work for the Carhart Photo Company, where she was also a model, and later for the Eastman Kodak Company, where she worked on the Manhattan Project. She moved to Henrietta, NY in 1956 and eventually opened up B’s Daycare, where over a span of 40 plus years helped to raise and mold countless children into the impressive adults that they are today. The lives that she changed and the souls that she touched shall forever be intertwined together for eternity. Helen was also a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi and loved being part of such a wonderful organization. She held every position in the organization and took great pride in being a part of a group that focused on bettering people’s lives.
She is survived by her immediate family with sons Steven, David & Kathleen, Grandchildren Kaela, David & Mia, great grandson Joseph Anthony Bernardino and her greater extended family with Ron and Mary Alt, Frank & Val Swiader, Gail, Emma and William Swiader, many nieces and nephews with Donna, Linda, Patty, Rosanne, Jeanie, Jimmy, Kathy, Laurie and many others and their families too.

 

Friends and family may call MONDAY June 27, 2022 from 4-7 PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc. (3325 Winton Road S, Rochester, NY 14623) her Funeral Service will be held at the Pinnacle Lutheran Church at 250 Pinnacle Road, Rochester, NY 14623 on TUESDAY June 28, 2022 at 10am with internment to follow at White Haven Memorial Park.
In memory of Helen please take time to hug your child today and tell them that you love them and will always be there for them. And find time to pick a yellow rose to signify that her immense love will shine on forever.
