Barbara passed away on July 13, 2022 following a short illness. She was predeceased by the Aunt who raised her, Edna Torrell and is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles; sons, Steve (Diane Navarro) and Charles Daniel Gates; grandchildren: Sage and Emily Gates and Deacon and Demetrius Diederich; as well as great grandchildren, Juliana and Ian.

She was a long-time member and served on the board of the Hearing Loss Association of America, Rochester Chapter and was a member of Lake Avenue Baptist Church since 1958.

Friends and family are invited to call between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, followed by a 1:00 PM service on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 3325 Winton Road South.
